How we use your information 

ACC Learn collects and retains information about you in order to process, confirm and record your training.  

Internal email addresses will be used to send alerts when mandatory training refreshers are due. 

The information you provide will be used to report on courses completed. 

How long we keep your information for 

For Aberdeen City Council employees, training records will be kept for the duration of employment, and may be kept for a further period of time depending on the nature of employment.

Your rights 

Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for this information. You have rights in relation to your data, including the right to ask for a copy. See more information about all of the rights you haveas well as contact details for the Council’s Data Protection Officer. You also have the right to make a complaint to theInformation Commissioner’s Office.They are the body responsible for making sure organisations like the Council handle your data lawfully. 

Our legal basis 

Whenever the Council processes personal data we need to make sure we have a basis for doing so in data protection law. We understand our basis in data protection law to be either contract or public task.  This means processing your personal information is necessary for us manage our relationship with you, as your employer, or we consider it as our public task to provide this service to Elected Members and Partner Organisations.
